Steve Gable is a lightweight fighter fighting out of Oceanside, California.
He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt under Gracie Barra's, 5th degree black belt, Nelson Montairo.
Steve is known by his teammates for his work ethic and his dedication to training. His passion for combat sports led to his interest and involvement in wrestling. Steve's evolution in combat training further led him to formal Muay Thai training in Thailand. Steve's current Brazilian Jiu Jitsu record is 25-5. He has competed in No Gi Worlds, invitation-only Pan Am's, and the Abu Dhabi world trials where his opponents were unable to score a point. He won medals in Gold and Silver in 2003 Pan Am's. In 2007, he won another Silver at the Pan Am's and a Bronze at 2008 worlds. Steve Gable's current MMA Record is 3-1.
Steve teaches BJJ at Gracie Barra Poway. He's very focused on fitness & nutrition and helps other fighters with strength & conditioning programs. Steve participated in water polo and swimming in college.
He has appeared in Elite XC, ShoXC, Total Combat and Galaxy MMA where he won his fight against Clay Lewis Jr via rear naked choke to move into the semi-finals of the Light Weight Grand Prix Tournament August 6th. During the semi-finals, Gable finished off a durable striker, Kris Kyle, with a quick take down and rear naked choke.
