Hawaii MMA fans have not witnessed the crowning of a champion in a while. Two fighters who are rapidly rising through the ranks and looking to solidify their place in Galaxy MMA history will compete for the Lightweight belt since they have both advanced to the finals of the grand prix tournament. Steve Gable, a black belt in BJJ, who trains out of Gracie Barra in California, has been diligently working in his wrestling and stand up skills is ready to take on all comers. After his last submission win over Kris Kyle, he gave an appreciation speech that won over the hearts of many locals fans. Veteran Harris Sarmiento trains out of the 808 Fight Factory in Waipahu, HI, which is known for producing talented fighters like Niko Vitale and Ronald Jhun. Sarmiento advanced to the finals after a unanimous victory over the very tough Jose Salgado, who trains with Big Country Roy Nelson. Harris is hungry to win the whole tournament and keeping the belt in Hawaii to let all mainland fighters know that Hawaii has some of the best talent in the world.
